It's not too late to find a summer job
Corinna Carver Reflector Reporter
It's April, and you're still looking for a summer job. You aren't the only one.

Luther Epting of the Career Services Center urges students to decide whether it is money or career-relevant work experience that they need most.
Often, internships are strictly a way to gain experience in a career field. If an internship is not paid, then you must weigh the expense against the experience and training you will gain from the internship.
Starting early will give students the opportunity to better explore what is available to them. Many departments on campus have bulletin boards that post available jobs relating to a particular major.
Be aggressive. Don't expect a job to fall right into your lap. Find an employer you want to work for and apply.
Do your homework. Employers are flattered when a prospective employee shows they know something about the company. Be able to tell a company what it is you like about them and why you are interested in working for them.
Take advantage of networking through contacts you or your parents may have. It is often true that who you know may be more important than what you know.
The Career Services Center, located in Room 316 of the Colvard Union, offers a variety of employment services to both students and alumni. Not only can it put students in touch with prospective employers, Career Services provides information relating to a chosen career such as starting salaries and the availability or demand for a particular job.
